Flux: Changing States is a collection of a small collection of artworks that take a snapshot of alchemical moments of our inner landscape, in the process of healing and transformation. As we bring awareness to our inner world and move through each shifting moment-to-moment experience, we can make room for what was previously unconscious. As we surrender to the discomfort of what needs to emerge, to be released and accessed, we can come into a deeper connection to our truest essence and re-emerge more liberated. This is bold and courageous, and when understood, can be met with compassion, experimentation, and play.

 

In this collection of artworks Sophia contemplates these stages of emotional healing, working spontaneously and intuitively in the moment. Sophia relishes in the bold and playful use colour, brushwork, or the use of a palette knife, to create texture and capture the sensation of movement that occurs during alchemical change. The artworks are intended to be an anchor point and a portal for this.
